What is the Dismantling Service?
Dismantling LEGO® sets it a bit like Marmite®: some people love it, others hate it.
Maybe you can’t stand the idea of breaking apart your hard-built creations, don’t trust yourself not to lose any pieces, don’t have the time, or simply find it boring.
Whatever your reason, our Dismantling Service is here to help by taking on the—often tedious—task of breaking a set back down into it’s individual pieces and placing them back in the right bags for you.
How does the Dismantling Service work?
When you’re ready to send a set back, let us know if you’d like us to dismantle it for you. Don’t worry if you forget to tell us, if you send back a set clearly assembled we’ll assume you want us to dismantle it for you anyway.
You will likely need to do a bit of separation to ensure everything can fit inside the padded envelope or box, but this is usually limited to only separating a few main parts.
Please place all loose and protruding parts—e.g. minifigures, accessories, aerials—inside one of the zipped bags. If you are able to get larger sections inside a zipped bag as well then please do so, if not then just place them back inside the box and close.
Remember to seal your padded envelope or mailer bag up securely in case any parts do come loose in transit.
How much does the Dismantling Service cost?
LEGO® sets range in size, and therefore the price of our Dismantling Service varies from set to set.
The price is equivalent to one week at the standard pay-as-you-go (PAYG) rate for that set. For example, if the PAYG price is listed as £5.99 per week, then to have us dismantle the set for you will cost £5.99—this is on top of any PAYG/subscription/p&p payments that have already been taken.
Our Dismantling Service is available regardless of whether you are renting on a PAYG basis or through one of our subscription plans, and the rate is the same.
